DAV University, Jalandhar is a Private Multi-disciplinary University founded in 2013. It was affiliated by the State Legislature of Government of Punjab via the DAV University Act. The University is managed and conducted by Dayanand Anglo Vedic (DAV) College Trust and Management Society, New Delhi via its Executive Body, the DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi. D.A.V. is the single largest non-governmental educational organization in the country managing 780 institutions all over India. DAV University at Jalandhar belongs to an organization which has been reforming and redefining India's educational scenario for 127 years. It is the culmination of the movement that started with the founding of the first DAV institute to propagate the ideals of the religious and social reformer Swami Dayanand Saraswati in Lahore on June 1, 1886. The University is spread over an area of about 80 acres and is well equipped with modern infrastructure including round-the-clock power backup, water supply, canteens and under graduated parking area in the basement of each building. Hostels - The University offers separate hostels facilities for students. It is equipped with modern amenities including hygienic kitchens, lifts, recreation rooms and indoor games. All rooms are equipped with ceiling fans, but the Aspirants may opt for water coolers or air conditioners in their rooms. Library - The Library has more than 15,000 reference books. It is equipped with four dozen computers in the library for facilitating studies, access to e-journals and for the internet. It subscribes to Delnet Access for providing e-resources to the Aspirants. It has subscribed to two dozen national and international journals.
DAV University (DAVU) provides degree and diploma courses to Aspirants undergraduate, postgraduate, and Ph.D. levels. Courses provide are in the streams of Humanities & Social Sciences, IT & Software, Accounting & Commerce, Science, Business & Management Studies, and Mass Communication & Media.
Minimum Eligibility Criteria for undergraduate & Postgraduate Courses
Aspirants who have to get at least 55% marks in Class 12th fulfill DAV University eligibility criteria for undergraduate course admissions. Aspirants who have scored minimum 50% marks in graduation meet DAV University eligibility criteria for postgraduate course admissions.
Note: Aspirants are advised to go via the eligibility criteria as mentioned by DAV University for the course in which they wish to secure admission.
Admission Procedure for undergraduate & Postgraduate Courses
DAV University admissions in a majority of courses offered at the university are done on the basis of merit determined via Aspirants’ score in the last qualifying exam. However, for some course admissions, the university also conducts entrance exams or accepts scores of other national/ state level exams.
For admission in B Tech courses the university affiliate DAVUET (DAV University Entrance-cum-Scholarship Test). However, Aspirants having valid JEE (Joint Entrance Exam) Main scores are exempted from appearing for the entrance test.
The same rule applies to MBA admissions wherein the university conducts DAVUMET (DAV University MBA Eligibility Test). However, Aspirants having valid MAT/ CAT scores are exempted from appearing for the entrance test.
The Aspirants is required to fill the online form by visiting the website www.davuniversity.org
Get a printout of the filled online form, the admit cards, and the attendance slip. Affix four latest photographs of passport size on them and put signature wherever required
The form complete in all respects along with registration fee will have to be submitted by hand or by registered post/speed post/courier to the examination center selected by the Aspirants in his/her application form
However, the Aspirants may also get the registration form from the Principal of the opted examination center by paying Rs.200/- and follow the above process.
Note: The filled-in form should not be sent to DAV University unless DAV University Jalandhar opts as the exam center; Aspirants are advised to retain a photocopy of the filled-in application form and admit card for future reference the university will not be responsible for any postal delay or loss in postal transit
Mode of Payment
The Aspirants can pay the fee of Rs.200/- cash to the Examination Centre Opted by the Aspirants (or);
Multi City cheque or DD (Demand Draft) of Rs.200/- drawn in favor of Principal (Fill in respective examination center) payable at the respective city
Aspirants should write his/her name, address and mobile number on the reverse side of multicity cheque/DD
Note: In case DAV University has opted as test centers the Multicity cheque/Diman Draft (DD) of Rs.200/- is to be drawn in favor of Registrar, DAV University, Jalandhar (fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances)
