KLEF (Koneru Lakshmaiah Education Foundation) established Koneru Lakshmaiah College of Engineering in the year 1980 conducted to Acharya Nagarjuna University. It was founded by the late Sri Koneru Lakshmaiah and Sri K.Satyanarayana at Vaddeswaram. It was renamed KLEF. The college became Autonomous in the year 2006 and from 2009 onwards it has become Deemed to be University. It is the only Engineering Institute in the state of AP permitted by AICTE to admit Foreign Nationals. It has Flexible Academic system wherein Aspirants can do courses in specialized streams as per their choice leading to major, minor and dual degree programs. The Faculty of the Institute, numbering 375+, out of which 78 are doctorates and 150+ are pursuing It looks after the Industry Institution Interaction and placements. 84 laboratories of various Departments to perform 107 different lab activities. The Institute also provides Bridge Courses to the Aspirants coming from disadvantaged backgrounds to make them competent to take up the various courses on par with other Aspirants. The Institute has signed MOUs with Various National and Multinational Industries which helps the Aspirants to visit the Industries and get practical experience.KLU is situated in a 44-acre campus abutting Buckingham Canal, about 9 km. from Vijayawada railway station, at add swarm, Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh.
