Recognizing the importance of agricultural growth and development in assuring livelihood security of its population, the Government of Rajasthan gave high priority to develop agricultural education, research and extension in the state. The first agriculture college established in the State was SKN College of Agriculture at Jobner. Later on in 1955, Rajasthan College of Agriculture was established at Udaipur. University provides all basic courses related to the agriculture science. Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Udaipur (MPUAT), the second Agricultural University of the state, (initially named as Agricultural University, Udaipur) came into existence on 1st November, 1999 by bifurcation of the Rajasthan Agricultural University, Bikaner through promulgation of Government of Rajasthan Ordinance No. 6 of 1999, which became an Act in May, 2000.
The admission process for all Agriculture courses is done offline. Prospectus and application forms for agricultural courses can be obtained by interested candidates from the University offices. The admissions are done based on merit and entrance examinations (JET, Pre-PG Test). Candidates must have passed the +2 examinations or equivalent from a recognized board of education for admissions into UG course. For PG courses, candidates must have a Bachelor degree from a recognized university. For Ph.D. programme, candidates must have a Master degree in the relevant field.
Candidates must have passed the +2 examination or equivalent from a recognized board of education to be eligible for admission into B.Tech courses. For M.Tech admissions, candidates must have a Bachelor degree in the relevant field of engineering from a recognized university.
Candidates can appear for JEE to be eligible for admission into B.Tech courses. For admissions into M.Tech courses, candidates need to have a valid GATE score. The entrance examinations are conducted both offline and online. For B.Tech courses candidates can also appear for State level Pre-engineering Test conducted by the Government of Rajasthan.
The application process is conducted offline. Candidates will have to get the application form and prospectus from the college office by paying an application fee as prescribed by MPUAT, Udaipur. The application process is common for all the courses.The application process for Technology courses are done offline. Candidates can get the application form from the University office. Candidates will have to pay the application fee where ever applicable. Admissions are based on the respective entrance examinations. The admissions to Ph.D. courses are done on merit and interview conducted by the university. The reservation criteria for admissions will follow the rules and regulations set by the Government at the time of admission
The application process for all courses offered by MPUAT is conducted offline. The admission forms are available for candidates from the University offices. To apply for admission, candidates can follow the steps given below:
MPUAT University declared time table for annual examination after two week of application forms submission. Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology department make a comity to publish time table for annual exam. In this matter Board member take important decision to make time table. After complete all process of time table It would be published on its official site and also available in offline mode in colleges. Students download time table on offline site or carry time table sheet by university.
Annual examination admits card will available 15-20 days before examination. Now students need to visit its official site to get information about annual exam admit card. Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology also published admit card before exam at suitable date. Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology department never declared a fix date to publish admit card. After admit available Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology gives all information on local newspaper and online site i.e. www.mpuat.ac.in.
