Goa University is the only University in the State of Goa and one of the renowned hub for higher education in the country. The University was established in the year 1985 around the nucleus of Centre for Post Graduate Instruction and Research of the University of Bombay in Goa. Goa University campus is located on the fringes of Panaji, the capital city. Goa University has appropriately emerged as an important resource centre for research in the field of flora and fauna endemic to this region, as well as the marine environment. Over the past 25 years, the University has steadily expanded its reach, both in terms of the number of colleges affiliated, as well as the diversity of courses offered. Goa University selects its candidates for its courses based on the performance in GCET (Goa Common Entrance Test) which is a centralized entrance test for different UG & PG courses. The application process for GCET has already begun and interested candidates can apply through the official website. The university also offers reservation of seats for students belonging to SC/ST/OBC and other categories.
Goa University offers various courses under its UG programme which includes courses in Arts, Science, Commerce, Computer application, business application, Education, Engineering, Fine Arts and Performing Arts. The application process for these courses will start in the month of May and the application forms are available both online and offline. The selection of candidates is made on the basis of performance in Goa Central Entrance test.

Application Fee for PG courses
Candidates need to pay INR 400/ - to apply for any of the previously mentioned PG program. On the off chance that a Candidates chooses to apply for more than one PG program, he/she needs to pay extra Rs.100/ - for each. If there should be an occurrence of Entrance Test, wherever appropriate, the Candidates must pay an extra measure of Rs.300/ -
